The five-flute design is designed for trochoidal machining with high feed rates. Strongly twisted cutting edges promote efficient chip evacuation and reduce vibrations, supporting smooth operation. A Weldon clamping surface secures the tool against pull-out. The tool allows plunging via ramp or helix.
The portfolio covers a cutter diameter range from 6 mm to 16 mm. The short and stable variants are designed for working depths from 2.5xD to 3.5xD. Available corner radii from r0.25 to r1 allow use in copy milling.
The smooth cutting geometry dispenses with chip breakers. This design improves surface quality during finishing and copy milling and complements the [rdg] tool in shorter overhangs.
The strong helix of the cutting edges reduces vibrations and ensures smooth operation. The short, stable variants combined with the Weldon clamping surface ensure high process security, especially during trochoidal machining with large axial infeeds. The tool design enables a high material removal rate.
Designed for machining unhardened steels (e.g., 1.1730) and alloyed tool steels up to 56 HRC (e.g., 1.2311, 1.2379). The field of application also includes die steels (e.g., 1.2714) and stainless, chromium-containing steels (e.g., 1.2083).
Ideally suited for efficient trochoidal machining on dynamic machines to achieve high metal removal rates. The tool complements [rdg] by offering higher stability and better finishing surfaces with short overhangs (<3.5xD), while [rdg] is designed for deeper cavities.
This tool is regrindable. Restoration of geometry and coating. We make your tool process-capable again.
